How can I stop thistle seed from falling to ground from bag feeders and being wasted?

We love to feed the wild finches and they like to eat from these mesh bags but so much of the seed gets wasted on the ground and it is very expensive. There must be some way to catch this and put it back into the bag. Any help appreciated.
